PULP FOR A PANDEMIC

Sheltering at home during the first months of the COVID pandemic in 2020, I searched for creative outlets that would utilize my sardonic sense of humor, love of vintage graphics, and the awkward ways we were adapting to the new rules of human physical contact.

I turned to the titillating pulp fiction paperbacks of the 1940s–1970s, featuring suggestive illustration, breathless language, sexual innuendo and sensationalism. It was the perfect canvas for my ironic take on the world gone wild, as the pandemic raged and everything we knew as normal was turned upside down.
